Lancing is our home patch, and the housing here splits cleanly in two. South of the railway you have the interwar and post-war coastal development: bungalows and semis built between the 1920s and the 1960s, generally on decent plots, generally with the original bathroom layout still in place and the original loft tank still sitting above it. North Lancing is older and more mixed, with flint and brick cottages around the village core and a good deal of later infill around them.
Two things follow from that. The first is corrosion.
