Air Conditioning

Air conditioning supply,installation and servicing

Wall-mounted and multi-split systems for homes, offices and commercial premises across the West Sussex coast.

Our work

Air conditioning has stopped being a commercial-only product on the south coast. South-facing rooms, loft conversions and home offices are the three we get asked about most, and all three are rooms that a heating system was never designed to cool.

A modern split system also runs as a heat pump, so the same unit that cools a room in July heats it efficiently in October. For a home office that is used all day, that often makes more sense than heating the whole house.

The important decisions are made before installation: where the indoor unit goes so it is not blowing at someone, where the outdoor unit goes so the noise does not sit under a bedroom window, and how the pipework and condensate route between them without running across a rendered elevation.

What’s included

  • Site survey covering heat load, unit positions, pipe routes and condensate drainage
  • Wall-mounted, ceiling cassette and multi-split system supply and installation
  • Outdoor unit siting with consideration for noise and neighbouring windows
  • Refrigerant pipework, electrical connection and condensate management
  • Commissioning, pressure testing and handover
  • Annual servicing including filter cleaning and refrigerant checks
  • Commercial planned maintenance contracts
  • Fault diagnosis and repair on existing systems

What this covers

Everything that falls under air conditioning

  • Single room split systems

One indoor unit paired with one outdoor unit. The usual choice for a bedroom, home office or conservatory.

  • Multi-split systems

Several indoor units running from a single outdoor condenser, which keeps the number of external units down.

  • Commercial installations

Offices, salons, retail units and server rooms, planned around occupancy and heat load rather than floor area alone.

  • Heating and cooling

Modern inverter units run in reverse to heat efficiently, which suits rooms used all day.

  • Servicing and maintenance

Filter cleaning, coil cleaning, refrigerant and condensate checks. Neglected units lose efficiency quickly and start to smell.

  • Repairs

Diagnosis on systems that are not cooling, leaking condensate or tripping out.

How it works

How a air conditioning job runs with us

The same four stages every time, so you always know what happens next and what it costs.
  1. Get in touch

Call or send a few details and photos. We will tell you straight away if it is something we cover and roughly what is involved.

  2. Free site visit and written quote

We come out, measure up, talk through what you actually want, and put a fixed price in writing. No pressure and no sales visit.

  3. Booked in and delivered

An agreed start date, materials ordered ahead, and the same team on site from the first day to the last.

  4. Signed off and guaranteed

Everything tested and commissioned, certificates issued, the site left clean, and your workmanship guarantee confirmed in writing.

Air Conditioning questions

What people ask about air conditioning

Yes. Nearly every modern split system is a reversible heat pump, and in mild weather it is a cheaper way of heating a single room than firing the whole central heating system for it. For a home office used eight hours a day, that difference adds up.

The indoor unit on a modern inverter system is quiet enough for a bedroom on its lowest setting. The outdoor unit is the one to plan around, and the answer is siting rather than specification: away from bedroom windows, yours and your neighbour's, and on a bracket or plinth that will not transmit vibration into the wall.

For most domestic installations in England the outdoor unit falls under permitted development, provided it meets size, siting and noise conditions. Listed buildings, conservation areas and flats are the common exceptions, and there are several conservation areas along this stretch of coast. We flag it at survey if your property is likely to be affected.

Annually for domestic use and more frequently for commercial systems in constant operation. Filters clog, coils get dirty, and an unserviced unit loses efficiency and eventually starts to smell musty because the condensate tray is not drying out.

Often yes, but the refrigerant pipework has to reach an outdoor unit somewhere, and the longer that run the more it costs and the more it eats into performance. An internal room with a route through a loft or a cupboard is usually workable. We would need to survey it.
